BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – FOUR employees of Royal Utilities were yesterday (Sept. 28) awarded for their dedication and exceptional hard work.
Danny Williams, Jeffrey Harris, Elton Evans and Uriel James were presented with Outstanding Achievement Awards by their General Manager, Gerry Moise, as a token of appreciation commitment and loyalty to the company.
Moise said that the idea for the awards came about as he was watching one of his employees working one day.
He said that he saw the young man working really hard, drenched in sweat, and as he walked past him, the employee looked up with a smile on his face.
The General Manager said that this was when he decided that something must be done to show them some appreciation and so the award scheme came about.
He explained that the award was based on which of his employees were most outstanding at the time.
He further explained that his employees are hard working, dedicated individuals whom he feels privileged to work with.
"I am very fortunate to be working alongside such good men of St. Kitts. These guys are honest and honourable, good natured and dedicated employees," he said.
This was not the first time awards have been presented. When the now eight year old company turned five, all employees were given gifts as a show of gratitude from the company.
Royal Utilities is a private utilities company that makes and supplies electricity for the St. Kitts Marriott Resort.
The company also runs a Desalination Plant that makes one million gallons of water per day to supply to the St. Kitts Marriott Resort and the Royal Golf Course.
