    Pieces on display in exhibition
    Basseterre, St. Kitts (November 3, 2004):
    In what has been described as a vivid and gripping expression of colour, Henri Vigana of Martinique in collaboration with the Alliance Francais, has mounted an exhibition at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort.

     

    Capturing colour by the photographic media Mr. Vigana uses the fishing culture of Martinique to bring out what he describes as "attitude".

     

     

    The photographic pieces which have been given high marks by viewers will be on display until Saturday when the touring exhibition will continue on to St. Vincent and St. Lucia.

     

     

    In order to capture the full benefit of Mr Vigana’s visit, Alliance Francais Director Ms Rita Schneider arranged a one-day workshop for persons interested in photography as an art form on Wednesday, Nov 3.

     

     

    Mr Vigana is taking the opportunity to share his expertise in the field of photography and to inspire aspirants to pursue their goals in this regard. His work spans a period of ten years.

    Director Schneider explained that the Alliance Francais is taking a proactive approach to cultural integration and said that the Alliance Francais hopes to undertake a number of special events during the remaining months of the year.

     

     

    This month is the photography exhibition and a music event while in December there will be a dance expose.

     

     

    Persons viewing exhibition
    The next organized event organised by the Alliance Francais is a performance by a Jazz Fusion Band of Guiana with Chris Combette at the Marriott Resort. The event scheduled for Saturday, 20th November will also feature the Modern Image Band of St. Kitts.

     

     

    Ms. Schneider explained that as extra incentive to have people join, the Alliance Francais events are offered at a reduced rate for students.
