BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AS a pre-celebration initiative and an endeavour to give back to the community, the UDC Garden Hotspurs Football Club partnered with the Concerned Citizens for a better McKnight Group , and on Wednesday (Sept. 28), presented students of the Irish Town Primary School with bag packs.
The bag packs totalled 50, each symbolizes one year of existence for the Football Club. Each bag pack contains three exercise books, four pencils, three pens, one sharpener, one ruler, two glue sticks, one large eraser, four pencil top erasers, one calculator, and one dictionary.
The school bags were handed over to the 5th and 6th grade students.
President of the UDC Garden Hotspurs Football Club, Dabo Penny advised the students to strive for excellence and to walk in the footsteps of the former students of the Irish Town Primary School who have had great.
The school’s Principal, Mrs. Jean Nisbett-Boddie, in thanking the Football Club and the group for their generous donation, explained that it was a promised initiative, to assist the students as well as the school.
She said that they promised to help with the graduation and assist with the training of the school’s football team.
Representative for the Concerned Citizens for a better McKnight Group, Bernard B. T. Rawlins thanked those who assisted with making the donation possible including the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, in particular the Customs and Excise Department, Mr. Elvis Charles, and Mr. James Herbert.
6th grade student, Kyana Peets thanked the Football Club and the group for their donation to the school.
