BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - AFTER bringing you the top ten local male artiste, it was only fair to let the females know where they stand. However, the local female artistes are not in abundance like the males so SKNVibes has only compiled a top five list.
5. Brownie – In at number five is new comer Brownie; she has never made any stage performances as a solo artiste but has a number of tracks that have been receiving airplay on several radio stations.
4. Ladii Caramel – Although this artiste was known to be a good singer, she stunned everyone when she released several jaw dropping tracks some months ago. Her ‘Midnight Cry’ has been in heavy rotation on the airwaves and has been greatly requested.
3. Cinnamon – She pushes very hard to promote herself and her music. She has recorded and released a number of tracks on local as well as Jamaican riddims and currently has a video rocking the Tempo channel. However, when it comes to performances she lacks in that department.
2. Empress Livity – Another new artiste who is part of the energetic Upstairs Family. Her songs are very positive and encouraging to young females. She is also good at holding a crowd and her performances are usually very lively. Many people have compared her style to Jamaican singer Queen Ifrica whom she states is one of the singers who motivate her.
1. Dymanyzd – The sexy duo comes in at number one. These songstresses have had a number of ‘Big Tunes’ that have been heard not only on the radio stations but pumping in people’s cars and in the clubs. Shana and Babby are always looking top notch when they hit any stage to perform and are not just good singers on recorded tracks. They both have really good voices when performing live and can switch up their styles from soul to dancehall to rappers.
