Jerome Rawlins, newly appointed Vice President Nevis Operations

The Board of Directors of Cable & Wireless St. Kitts & Nevis has confirmed the appointment of Jerome Rawlins as Vice President of Nevis Operations, following the retirement of Mervyn Richardson.

A graduate of Rutgers University, Mr. Rawlins holds a Certificate in Telecoms Management. Before he joined Cable & Wireless in 2000, as Manager of Networks, he worked with Bell Atlantic in the United States, which later became Verizon for 10 years.

As Vice President of Nevis Operations, Mr. Rawlins now has the responsibility of leading the 24 member staff to achieving the overall vision of Cable & Wireless.

Commenting on Mr. Rawlins’ appointment, Ms Pat Walters, Chief Executive of Cable & Wireless St. Kitts and Nevis noted her delight in welcoming Jerome to the management team.

“I have every confidence that Jerome will make a solid contribution at this level and wish him all the very best in his new role.”

His predecessor, Mervyn Richardson retired at the end of September after 35 years of service in the telecommunications industry, having started his career in the Government’s Telephone Department.

The former Vice President of Nevis Operations joined Cable & Wireless in 1985 with the merger of Cable & Wireless and the Government’s Telephone Department to form the then SKANTEL.

The Management and staff of Cable & Wireless extend congratulations to Mr Rawlins on his new appointment and wish Mr Richardson a happy retirement.
