    Pastor Clive Saunders
    Basseterre, St. Kitts:
Pastors and members of the Faith Tabernacle Ministries in St. Kitts assembled at the Sandy Point Community Centre last evening to collectively express their appreciation of Pastor Clive Saunders and the service he has rendered to the said Ministry and the Sandy Point community.

Saunders, Pastor of the Unique Touch Christian Centre which is the Sandy Point branch of the Faith Tabernacle Ministries, has been heading the church since it was founded in 2003.  Since then, that ministry has grown to 50 members strong and about 13 sub-ministries.

At different intervals throughout his 30 years of existence, Pastor Saunders has lent his services and expertise to the people of his community, Sandy Point especially the youths of the area.  He, only a couple of years ago, co-founded Save Our Sons (SOS), a home for less fortunate boys.

At the home, they are taught life skills, morals and values which are a good foundation if they are to live productive lives.

Pastor Saunders’ ex-co-workers, fellow brothers and sisters of the faith, community members and others did not hesitate to express, whether in song or remarks, their admiration and appreciation of the “community minded” man.  ~~Adz:Right~~

Nearing the end of the service, appreciation of Pastor Saunders was further expressed when he was showered with gifts from the different departments which are a part of his church.  According to reports, he received close to 10 gifts.

In response to the words and gestures of appreciation, he thanked coordinator of the event and member of the Unique Touch Christian Centre, Antoinette Henry; his sister, Joyan Saunders for bringing such joy to his life; Pastors Taylor and Henville; Sis. Henry and the Faith Tabernacle Ministries body for the help and support they have given and shown him throughout the years.

Henry, in an interview with SKNVibes explained that she knows that her pastor deserved the appreciation service because of the impact he has made on the Sandy Point community and in the lives of the members of his church.  She spoke specifically of his passion for youths and his need to see them live productive lives.

“It was actually a joint church agreement.  Seeing that we (the Unique Touch Christian Centre) are celebrating our fifth anniversary in a few days we decided to host the appreciation service to coincide with that.

Pastor Saunders played a vital role in the community and has touched many lives.  He assisted with the founding of Save Our Sons (SOS) and he is a person that young people feel comfortable around and comfortable speaking to.  They come to him for advice and help.  He is basically a confidant to lots of young people and he always has some sort of good advice and words of encouragement for people.  He really deserves it and he has not a lot for such a young pastor,” Henry said.

Events to mark the 5th Anniversary of the Unique Touch Christian Centre will begin on this coming Friday and will end on Sunday following which, Hosanna celebrations will begin.
