Forward in Cayon
~~Adz:Left~~ The People’s Action Movement will continue its General Election campaign at a big public meeting at Maynard Park in Cayon on Thursday 31st. This promises to be a crucial meeting in what is widely acknowledged to be a stronghold community for the Party and therefore vital to its efforts to regain the important seat of Constituency #8.
The meeting will focus on the main issues that comprise the Party platform and that have driven the public debate over the last few years including:
• Electoral Reform; specifically the farcical confirmation process and the threat to our democracy which is represented by the new policy of confirming voters overseas in consulates and embassies
• Land Use Policy; specifically the loss of our patrimony through the sale of large tracts to foreign entities
• The High Cost of Living; specifically the increasing burden of taxation and inflation and their impact on consumer prices
• Crime; specifically the explosion in violent gun crime and homicide that has already caused the Federation to already experience its first homicide for the year and
• Corruption; specifically the rape of the treasury that has made millionaires of Government Ministers and their favourite family members and cronies that has resulted in the shocking national debt of $2.39 billion and mortgaged the future of our children and that has also undermined the private sector as companies who refuse to play the game have been marginalized.
All are invited to come out and hear the Leadership of the PAM, the Government in waiting, as they educate the public about these pressing issues of national importance.
