CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – Residents on Nevis are soon to further benefit from the ongoing efforts of the 30-year-old Alexandra Hospital and Auxiliary Society.
Last Friday the Society held its annual Hospital Fair at the Methodist Church grounds in Charlestown and announced that proceeds from items sold would be used to purchase gonco machines.
President of the Society Claristine Claxton explained that gonco machines are used during treatment of persons suffering with chest pains and these will add a fillip to the hospital’s stock of equipment.
She declared that the Society, through the annual event and contributions by well wishers, raised EC$57 000 in 2007 which enabled the Alexandra Hospital to purchase two patient-monitors.
The fun-packed fair had seen many residents in attendance including pre-schoolers.
