    PAM takes Cayon by storm

The People’s Action Movement (PAM) stepped up its momentum with a massive public meeting at Maynard Park in Cayon on Thursday 31 January.

A large crowd braved the chill to go out and hear the Leadership of PAM discuss the pressing issues facing the Federation. The meeting covered the five platform issues including the high cost of living, electoral reform, crime, the land issue and corruption.

There was a tangible excitement in the air as speakers held forth on what has become a familiar litany of abuses on the part of this inept and corrupt Labour Administration and many in the crowd showed that they were well versed on the issues by filling in whatever information the speakers left out.

This was especially evident in the discussion of the land issue. Everyone knew of all the egregious sales of large tracts to foreign entities and when La Valley and White Gate were mentioned added Lamberts, Rawlins, Kittitian Hill and the dealings for over 600 acres between Keys and Cayon.

It was clear that everyone present was certain of the immanence of the next General Election and the people of Cayon are more than ready to vote in their PAM Candidate Eugene Hamilton as the next Constituency Representative.

The reception given to the discussion on Electoral Reform was especially strong as many people expressed disgust at the blatant bias and wrongdoing occurring in the Electoral Office especially in light of the fact that all the employees are known diehards of the Labour Party even former staff of that Party’s mouthpiece.

They were vocal in support of party leader Lindsay Grant when he assured them that despite the extensive cheating that we can expect from the Labour Party the wind of change sweeping the region will not pass St. Kitts by.
