CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – TWENTY-eight-year-old Leon Westerman, who was gunned down by two masked men outside Angela’s Bar on Main Street last week, was buried on Thursday afternoon.
According to Leon’s mother, Marcella Westerman, the funeral service was held at the Methodist Church, Chapel Street, Nevis. His body will be laid to rest at the Bath Cemetery.
Yesterday, at the family home in Low Street, Leon’s family members and friends were busy making preparations for the funeral. Leon is Marcella’s second born son and fathered by Wycliff Walters, a Kittitian.
Marcella said the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had informed them that two persons had been arrested and were assisting the police with investigations, but the mother was concerned that they had not yet been charged.
She said her satisfaction that justice is being done would depend on how quickly charges are preferred. ~~Adz:Right~~
Marcella said her area representative, Hon. Robelto Hector, had been in close touch with the family and that had comforted her.
She said Leon was a father to two sons – Coleon (8) and Decari (6).
