Jennelle – Leon Westerman’s American female friend
CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – WITH tears streaming down her cheeks, a young woman from Houston, Texas said she was in the bathroom at Angela’s Bar on Main Street, Charlestown when she heard the report of gunfire on the night Leon ‘Gravo’ Westerman died.

The young woman, during a brief interview with SKNVibes on Thursday, gave her name as Jennelle and declared that she was “liming with Leon” at Angela’s Bar at the time of his demise.

“When I heard the first shot I opened the bathroom. I saw a man with my purse and a gun. I was frightened and I shut the door…when I opened the door again the gunman was gone. I began to run out…nobody could tell me where Leon was. I found his shoes on the street, picked them up and went to Leon’s sister’s house. I told his sister...Richard came and took us to the hospital,” Jennelle said.

Jennelle said that on reaching the hospital she and Westerman’s sister were informed he had died an hour earlier. They learnt the police had taken him there after he was shot.

Jennelle said she and Westerman first met in 2006 and reconnected after she returned to the island on December 29, 2007. She stated that she had wanted to return to the US in early January but Westerman pleaded with her to stay on the island. ~~Adz:Right~~

On the day of Westerman’s death, Jennelle said they had left the house where they were staying at about 8 p.m. They spent the evening at Sunshine’s and Chevy’s and later at Angela’s Bar on Main Street where he was shot.

She described him to be a “perfect” gentleman” who took good care of her.

According to reports, Westerman was gunned down by two masked men in the vicinity of Angela’s Bar between 10-11 p.m. on Monday, January 28.

It was reported that two male residents of St. Kitts were arrested on suspicion of murder and were assisting the police with their investigations.

Leon ‘Gravo’ Westerman (28) was laid to rest yesterday at Bath Cemetery after a home-going service at the Methodist Church on Chapel Strreet, Nevis.
