BASSETTERE, ST. KITTS- AN official from the Electricity Department explained that the power outages experienced this past Sunday was a result of a tripped engine.
“We are aware of the problem and are currently working to put remedial action in place,” the official said.
The official said that the engine was tripped when the Electricity Company could not meet its required power load, thus causing other engines to be tripped after being forced to carry the dispersed load of the original engine.
In order to keep the engines from surpassing their maximum capacity, the Electricity Company had to briefly shut down several engines to shed their loads, causing brief power outages across the island.
“We apologize for any interruption in service our customers experienced,” said the official, “and now that we are aware of the problem, we hope to have it resolved in the near future.” ~~Adz:Right~~
