                                                           Training for Local Tour Operators

    ~~Adz:Left~~Basseterre, 13th February, St. Kitts 2008
    – When you think of a Cruise, fun and adventure come to mind.  Those tour operators who deliver the fun on St. Kitts have to do so with a consideration for many variables.

Adventure Tours are popularly sought after by cruise passengers, as fun ways to experience a destination.  Some examples of adventure tours are: hiking, horse back riding, water sports and all terrain vehicle (ATV) tours.  With an increase in the demand for these tours expected due to the frequent arrival of the Carnival Cruise Lines alone, over the upcoming season and beyond, business owners have to be appropriately ready.

In preparation, operators have to position themselves to be constantly updated and aware of the international standards of operation when managing these tours.  Carnival Cruise Lines, Kantours and the St. Kitts Tourism Authority have collaborated to organize training on such matters and more.  Mr. Jason Gaffney, Vice President of Alaska Mountain Guides and Climbing School, Inc. will conduct a workshop from February 17th-19th, 2008 at Frigate Bay Resort.

Commenting on the training, Randolph Hamilton Product Development and Cruise Manager, St. Kitts Tourism Authority said, “it is critical that we monitor consumer trends in the Cruise Industry.  Recent statistics has shown that these trends demand quality customer service and value for money. In order to achieve sustainable tourism development, high level communication and collaboration with national and international stakeholders is paramount, as demonstrated with this public and private sector initiative.”

Interested tour operators are invited to register for this course either at the St. Kitts Tourism Authority Pelican Mall or KANTOURS, Bird Rock.  There is a registration fee of EC$500.
