    Sacher Warner

(ST. THOMAS, USVI):  SACHER Warner says she is destined to make a significant contribution in the Kittitian society and her attending the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) is just a stepping stone to the realization of such a dream.

The twenty four year old is pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. This is her second semester and she says every day she climbs a higher rung on the ladder to achieving her objective of assisting the troubled youth in society.

Sacher noted that this interest in psychology stemmed from her years teaching English at Basseterre High and Sandy Point High Schools in her home country. Then, she said, is when she realized that there were many loopholes in dealing with deviant youth. She taught.

The young lady stated that she has faced many challenges but the greatest reward is overcoming those obstacles and moving forward. Initially, she indicated, she had many nights of crying because she was having difficulty with adjusting to the American lifestyle on campus but things are looking brighter for the young Kittitian as she has fitted quite nicely into the mix of things. ~~Adz:Right~~

As a matter of fact, Sacher has been a staunch campaigner to get other Kittitians and Nevisians into UVI.

Sacher is also actively involved in a number of activities on campus including being on the UVI's Queens Committee, which plans the annual shows at UVI, and being an avid member of the UVI St. Kitts- Nevis Association.

The former beauty queen is recognized for her experience in various shows, including the National Carnival Queen Pageant in St. Kitts, and this has cultured a persona that has drawn many to her.

“Everyone deserves a chance and I want to be able to help provide the avenue for young people to get this chance," she concluded.
