Charlestown Nevis (November 11, 2004) A testimony of a little knowledge shared can go a long way, was embodied earlier today, (Thursday), when Mr. Robelto Hector, a Nevisian son of the soil was called to the bar, at the Supreme Court in Charlestown.
During a brief ceremony, his former History Teacher, Solicitor and Barrister, Mr. Jeffrey Nisbett presented the motion to the presiding judge, the Hon Justice Charmaine Pemberton while his learned colleague and friend; Barrister and Solicitor, Mr. Anthony Johnson seconded the motion.
Mr. Hector in his acceptance speech said, "Today is the day when I am extremely happy and indeed it's a day that I have waited long for. I am inclined therefore to offer great thanks."
The 37-year-old lad told the court that he found great comfort in the scripture, (In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy path) while he was studying, and he expressed thanks to the Almighty for the role he played while he shaped his life.
Robelto, a former Quarantine Officer of the Agriculture Department in the Nevis Island Administration, expressed utmost gratitude to his presenter and seconder. He said, "I consider myself fortunate to have the guidance of my former History Teacher, Mr. Jeffery Nisbett and a great friend Mr. Anthony Johnson as I begin my journey into this great profession, and agreeing to present me to this court as a worthy officer."

Speaking to the government press following his admittance, Mr. Hector pointed out that he had an interest in law and that he had entered into it at the time that he planned. He expressed that studies were good, "law is very demanding and that one had to be disciplined enough to succeed".
During the exclusive interview with the press, Hector volunteered some advice to the younger generation. He said, "Make sure that you do not confuse your hobbies and your career, but remember at some point, your hobbies can become your career."
The young attorney, who thanked the judge for her sound words of guidance, admitted that he listened attentively to her and that he wanted to assure her that he would use her words to strengthen and further clarify his role and duties as an officer of the court. He did not forget to thank his family and friends, especially Mr. Daniel Arthurton and Mr. Kevin 'Scooby' Barrett.
"My Lady, with the help of all those that I have thanked today, I stand before the court with most of my needs met and ready to enter the hallowed ranks of this noble profession and to continue to contribute to the development of this lovely country of ours. May it please the Court," Hector concluded.
