BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AFTER another pulsating weekend, the Monday morning blues kicks in for many, but SKNVIbes has the recap to add some spark to your day so that you say, “Yea that event was maddd”.
On Friday Jamaican dancehall king Beenie Man did what he does best, which is entertain… and he threw down a ‘monies worth’ performance at Carnival Village.
Although the turnout was not the massive one expected, many of the patrons in attendance said they enjoyed the veteran dancehall singer’s performance, and the excitement could be seen in the crowd as many danced the night away to the artiste’s years of hits.
After the show many persons went over to the Frigate Bay Strip where they built up the crowd on the sandy beach rocking to DJs.
SKNVibes headed to Ma Pau on Saturday where Freedom FM held their first Anniversary Bash, and as one hit the parking lot, it was clear that this was the place to be, as it was lined with cars and people waiting to enter the venue.
Upon entering the club, one could see that patrons were not yet in the party mood and the majority stood around but it was not long after that Freedom radio personalities got the crowd moving and signaling to ‘BigTunes’
Soca sensation Shakki was called to perform and did so for several minutes teasing a few men with her ‘Riders Only’ song, while later in the night there were performances by the Upstairs Family.
The radio personalities took the opportunity to thank their fans for one year of support.
Meanwhile, Sunday saw something different and exciting as the Second Annual Latin Fiesta was held at Spice Mill on the South-east peninsula.
The event saw a huge turnout with locals and Latinos mingling and blending in a musical and friendly atmosphere topped off with some Latin cuisine.
That event brought the weekend to a tiring but fulfilling end.
