'Caribbean Adventure Series' Third Book now available

Third in the Adventure Series - Trapped in Dunston’s Cave
By: Lorna Callender, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – All children who have enjoyed reading about the adventures of Mark, Kyle, Ingrid and Chee Chee the monkey will be delighted to know that the third book in this Caribbean Adventure Series is now available.

“Trapped in Dunston’s Cave” is the title of the third book which is set in Trinidad. Readers will recall that the first book “Adventure at Brimstone Hill” was set in St. Kitts and the second, “Pirates at Port Royal” was set in Jamaica.

According to the blurb, “In this book, the (Caribbean Adventure Series) CAS kids, Mark, Kyle, and Ingrid set off for a school trip to Trinidad's Asa Wright Nature Center with Mark's pet monkey Chee Chee, all excited and ready for adventure. However, when Kyle disappears in the rain forest, the trip turns into a dangerous encounter with poachers who are trying to steal rare oilbirds from Dunston's Cave. Can Chee Chee once again rescue the children from danger?”

Carol Ottley-Mitchell, the author, who hails from St. Kitts Nevis, is to be highly congratulated and admired for being able to produce the third book of the series in such a relatively short time.

The standard of writing is high, the storyline is authentic, yet magical, and the books enable Caribbean children to relate to and identify with the characters and appreciate and marvel at their own history and landscape.

Already people are referring to the series as the Caribbean’s Enid Blyton Adventure Series but these books will be more than that for they are created by a Caribbean author, in a Caribbean setting specifically for Caribbean children.

However, like Enid Blyton books, the adventures of the children will make for enjoyable reading all over the world  - just like the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean” did for movie-goers.

Spurred on by the success of the first two books, and passionate about providing suitable reading material for children, Carol has now formed her own publishing company – CaribbeanReads - to make publishing more accessible to writers. This is how she relates it:

Trapped' is the first book published by CaribbeanReads Publishing, a company that I established to further my dream of making publishing more accessible to writers in the Caribbean. The process of publishing a book without the middleman was an experience that brought with it a very steep learning curve.

I am very pleased to have made it through these challenges and to be able to see the end result, the publication of Trapped in Dunston's Cave."

The young Caribbean reading public is also very pleased that Carol has persevered and has been successful in getting the third book published. Hopefully there will be many more to come and each new adventure will be eagerly anticipated.

The Caribbean Adventure Series is available online at Amazon.com and in select stores in St. Kitts, Antigua, St Lucia and other Caribbean islands. The books are now also available in Kindle format. You don't need a Kindle device to read the book. Simply download the Kindle application for free from amazon.com on to your computer and start reading right away. Website: www.caribbeanadventureseries.com
