BASSETERR St. Kitts, October 11th 2011 (CUOPM) – Over 102,000 cruise passengers disembarked at St. Kitts’ Port Zante during the second quarter of this year, Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas disclosed on Tuesday.
During his radio programme “Ask the Prime Minister” Dr. Douglas said a total of 102,682 cruise passengers disembarked at Port Zante during the second quarter of this year, compared to 76,810 in the second quarter of 2010 and 62,238 in the same period of 2009.
Forty-two thousand passengers disembarked from the Carnival Victory from 13 visits; Serenade of the Seas brought 16,383 passengers from 7 calls; 5,657 passengers came onboard the Celebrity Equinox; 4,900 on the Star Princess; 4,730 passengers on board the Norwegian Dawn; 4,285 on the Celebrity Summit and 4,072 onboard the Sea Princess.
With only two weeks into the 2011/2012 Cruise Ship Season, it is estimated that monthly cruise passenger arrivals will range from 23,000 in October; 84,000 passengers in November, 106,000 passengers in December; 95,000 passengers in January and 98,000 passengers each in February and March 2012.
