BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A man who had his case traversed from the May Criminal Assizes because of a mistrial will now be able to rest peacefully at nights without any legal worries as he was freed of a rape charge recently.
Lincoln Storrod who was charged with the offense of rape was found not guilty by a 12 member jury yesterday, Oct. 11 at the Basseterre High Court before His Lordship Justice Errol Thomas.
The prosecution team which was lead by O’neil St. A. Simpson alleged that Storrod had sexual intercourse with a certain female without her consent on June 19, 2010 in Camps.
However, the jury which was divided 11-1, vindicated Storrod in the matter.
There are three more rape cases scheduled for this assizes.
Two men are jointly charged with rape that allegedly occurred on February 19, 2011 in Basseterre.
The two allegedly had sexual intercourse with a certain female without her consent.
The alleged rape of a certain female that occurred sometime during April 1-29, 2010 at Stone Fort Flats by a man is also expected to be heard.
Yet another rape case occurring on September 1, 2010 in Old Road involving another female and another man is also up for trial.
