    Over EC$10 000 in fines at District ‘C’ Magistrate’s Court

    ~~Adz:Left~~ BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – FINES totaling EC$10 250 were handed down to five convicted men at the District ‘C’ Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
     
    Cotton Ground, Nevis resident Fitzroy Wilkerson was fined $8 000, having been convicted of “Possession of cannabis with intent to supply”. He was ordered to pay the sum within six months, and failing to do so a six-month custodial sentence would be imposed on him.
     
    Edile Palmer was fined $750 as punishment for “Unlawful possession” with which he was charged on Tuesday, February 19, 2008. The court ordered that he pay the sum forthwith or serve one month at Her Majesty’s Prison.
     
    Bath Village resident Jalmin Myers was convicted for September 13, 2007 offences of “Disorderly conduct by fighting” and “Throwing missiles”. On the first count, he was fined EC$500 and cautioned on the second. Roger Myers of Bath Village, who was also charged with “Throwing missiles”, was also convicted and cautioned.  
     
    Rohan Hutton of Clay Ghaut, Nevis was convicted and fined $500 for “Being armed with an offensive weapon”. He is required to pay the fine within one month or serve a one-month prison sentence. He was also convicted and cautioned on a “Battery” charge. Both offences were committed August 2, 2007.
     
    For the September 13, 2007 offence of “Disorderly conduct by fighting”, Jeano Forbes of Main Street, Charlestown was fined $500 which he has to pay within the next two months. Failure to do so would result in him having to serve two months imprisonment.
