    ROSEAU Dominica, October 13th, 2011 -- The Federation’s Senior Minister Dr the Hon Timothy Harris accompanied by  Mr. Asthon Stanley and Thomas Jackson, Acting Permanent Secretary and Director of Agriculture respectively are representing the Federation at the Caribbean Week of Agriculture being hosted in Dominica.

     

    The Caribbean Week of Agriculture is an annual event which brings all stakeholders in Agriculture together to advance the cause of the Regional Agricultural Sector.

     

    Among the stakeholder groups are Ministers of Agriculture and representatives from CARDI, IICA, FAO, CTA, CFRM, etc.

     

    Whilst in Dominica, Dr Harris will chair a meeting of the Board of Governors of CARDI and lead the Federation’s delegation to meetings of the Alliance, Caribbean Fisheries Resource Mechanism and Council of Trade and Economic Development.

     

    Dr Harris will meet with Ambassador Erwin Larocque, the New Secretary General of CARICOM to press the issue of St .Kitts sand Nevis accessing the Guyana/ Brazil partial scope agreement. This agreement is critically important for the Electronics Subsector.

     

    Dr Harris will pay courtesy calls on Acting Prime Minister Ambrose George who is also the Minister of Constituency Empowerment, Dr the Hon. John Collin McIntyre, Minister for Employment, Trade, Industry and Diaspora Affairs.
