With word that tickets were sold out since the day before, it was eagerly anticipated that The Childrens Dance Theatres crystal anniversary production held on November 14th would be witnessed by hundreds of their loyal fans. Indeed it was a packed auditorium and many without tickets had to be turned away. The staff immediately took a decision to stage an encore presentation. This will take place this coming Sunday, December 5th at 5 p.m. at the Sir Cecil Jacobs Auditorium.
The Theatres fifteenth anniversary production entitled OUR CRYSTAL CELEBRATION has been described by most as an exquisite dance recital. Some have said that it has been the finest to date. It was evident that all of the experience and expertise acquired since the inception of the group were brought into sharp focus in an impressive manner.
The showstoppers included A Bit of Bubbly, Celebration in Jazz and Love where is it? The visually entrancing dances by La Galaxie Dance Theatre and the CFBC Dance Ensemble were also very well received as they were artfully constructed and beautifully executed. Another special feature included the release of an original tune in tribute of the groups fifteen years of artistic excellence.
It was delightfully rendered by Mariece Roberts, a CDT graduate. Several individuals were awarded the unique designation of Honorary Aunts and Uncles as a result of their sterling contributions to the Theatre. They are Shirley Adams, Jenny Belle, Tessa Isaac and Jason Davis. Congratulation to the Childrens Dance Theatre for a job well done! Special thanks must be extended to them for acceding to the numerous requests to stage a repeat performance!
