~~Adz:Left~~ BASSETERRE, St. Kitts– When confronted with a question regarding a property he was supposedly renting to the Taiwanese Consulate, Prime Minister Hon. Denzil Douglas retorted “You’re out of Place!”
The question was posed by Deniece Alleyne, Editor of the Democrat during the Prime Minister’s press conference on Wednesday.
Douglas refused to answer the inquiry into whether he owned and was renting the lavish property at Adams Hills (Five Ways) that now houses the Taiwanese Embassy.
“That is not for this forum. You are out of place. You are a little out of place I must say, to ask that question like that of me in this forum. We can speak privately because that is a totally private matter,” the Nation’s leader replied.
Alleyne countered by saying that it was never her intention to be disrespectful, adding that she would have expected it “to be a public matter”.
She went on to challenge some of the statements made by Douglas on such matters as the contents of the ‘Newton’ report (ERCC), the basket of goods slated for price control and Voter’s ID.
When asked by another reporter whether or not he had re-confirmed his voter’s registration the Prime Minister replied “Not as yet”.
