BRADES, Montserrat, October 17th, 2011 – German Ambassador to the Caribbean and Counsel General to Montserrat His Excellency, Stefan Schlüter is expected to sign a Tax Information Exchange Agreement (TIEA) with Montserrat later this month.

Ambassador Schlüter has been the representative of German in the Caribbean since 2010 and will be paying his first visit to the island from October 28 to the 31. While here, he is expected to present his letter of credentials to His Excellency Governor Adrian Davis and pay a courtesy call on Premier Honourable Reuben. T. Meade.

TIEAs are bilateral agreements that are signed between nations to establish exchange of information for tax purposes but are also seen as a statement of transparency by investors and countries wishing to do business on Montserrat.
