    i. Driving with tinted windows below legal limit                16
    ii. Drive unlicensed vehicle                                                   2

iii. Exceeding the speed limit                                                 5
    iv. Carrying excess passengers                                               11

    x. Drive without seatbelt                                                      5

xi. Drive motorcycle without head gear                                1

One person was arrested and charged for driving without a driver’s licence and insurance.  He was subsequently released on bail and is awaiting trial.

The Traffic Department continues to appeal to owners and drivers of vehicles to familiarise themselves with their obligations, as ignorance does not excuse one from liability.

The Department also appeals to drivers of pickups and other open vehicles that it is an offence to carry passengers in the cargo tray of these vehicles unless the vehicle was adapted for the purpose and approve by the Traffic Department.

The practice is dangerous to passengers as it exposes them to serious injuries or death should there be an accident.
