BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - LESS than 24 hours after he was said to be “assisting police with investigations” into a report made against him by a young lady, political activist and popular taxi driver Walford Arthurton was charged with “indecent assault”.
Reports suggest that sometime over the weekend, a young lady who remains nameless, lodged a complaint at the Basseterre Police Station, which according to sources, alleges that she was inappropriately touched by Arthurton.

said police station on Monday, apparently having heard of the report made against him. While there, he was held by the police for questioning and later officially arrested and charged with one count of “indecent assault”.
It is also SKNVibes’ understanding that Arthurton’s lawyer is currently seeking bail for his client. If approved, Arthurton should be released from police custody today. He is expected to appear before the court shortly as investigations into the matter continue.
Numerous efforts were made to contact the Leader of the United National Empowerment Party [UNEP], Dr. Henry Browne, who is said to be Arthurton’s counsel, but SKNVibes was told that he’s indisposed.
