BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AN early morning traffic accident has left a schoolboy hospitalised after he was struck by a motor omnibus this morning (Oct. 19) on the Island’s Main Road in Canada Estate.
According to eyewitness account, the lad, whose name was not disclosed to this media house, was standing behind a parked bread-delivery bus on the seaward side of the Island’s main Road when he attempted to cross the road and was struck by motor omnibus.
The motor omnibus (HA81), which is owned and was driven by Brian Bass of St. Peters Parish, was travelling from Cayon’s direction towards Basseterre when the accident occurred at about 7:15 a.m.
The schoolboy was transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital where he is reportedly receiving treatment.
At press time, SKNVibes was unable to ascertain the condition of the child. However, it is understood that no one has been taken into custody in relation to the incident and investigations are currently being made.
