ST.JOHN'S Antigua, October 20th, 2011 - Antigua Commercial Bank today celebrates its 56th anniversary of service to the people of Antigua and Barbuda and beyond.
The Bank, which first operated under the name Antigua Co-operative Bank, was founded by nine visionary businessmen, namely Sir Louis Lockhart, Casford Murray, Kenneth Techiera, Egbert E. Harney, Dr. Luther Winter, Henry D.C. Moore, George E. Maynard , Emmanuel Farara, and Thomas G. Josiah Joseph.
They, together with Harold A.A. Tomlinson comprised the first Board of Directors. Today, tribute is paid to their foresight.
The Bank remains proud of its history, from a “penny bank” to now being the leading indigenous financial institution operating in Antigua and Barbuda .
The Bank also recognizes its over 5000 Shareholders for their investment in the institution’s sustained growth throughout the years.
Gratitude is also expressed to our customers and other stakeholders for their support and confidence in the Bank. We look forward to continue serving you.
The contribution to the Bank’s progress made by both present and former Directors, Management and Staff, is also acknowledged.
