BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – LESS than two weeks after a male native of St. Kitts and Nevis was shot to death in St. Martin, another’s life was brutally taken. This time however is the result of a stabbing incident.

The incident, according to www.sxmislandtime.com, took place on the evening of October 3 in the district of French Quarter.

The media house names the deceased as Cecilia Henry, said to be a native of St. Christopher and Nevis.

“Just what led up to this latest murder is still not clear at this early stage. The victim is said to (have) obtained stab wounds to most parts of her upper body including her head…” the media house reported.

Henry’s blood-soaked body was laid across the street before it was removed from the scene.

Although not then confirmed, the media house suggested that one person was taken into the custody of the Gendarmes (French Police).

The offence is rumoured to have been committed by a Haitian mother-daughter team.

Information about their whereabouts and whether or not they were taken into police custody is not forthcoming. However, www.sxmislandtime.com indicated its understanding that the women were “sent to Guadeloupe for judicial processing”.

On September 20, 27-year-old Anthony Carl Whyte was shot to death at his home at Madrid on Dutch Quarter (St. Maarten).

That incident occurred sometime after 2:00 that morning.

Neighbours in the area were disturbed by the sound of barking dogs and gunshots, and after the perpetrator(s) left they ventured outside and discovered an injured Whyte “bleeding profusely”.

An ambulance was summoned to the scene and he was transported to the St. Maarten Medical Center for treatment. He however succumbed to his injuries.
