BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AS one week winds down and another approaches, Kajola Kristada Ltd. is moving steadfastly into their preparations for their upcoming Safety Week which will be celebrated October 23 to 28.
The week will kick off on Sunday (Oct. 23) with a church service at the Wesley Methodist Church in Basseterre.
On Monday (Oct. 24), Dr. Holness and Dr. Martin are expected to make an appearance at Kajola Kristada Ltd. to talk to the staff about health safety.
Tuesday (Oct. 25) will see the Kajola employees receiving small tokens compliments the company, while the afternoon of Wednesday (Oct. 26) will see the employees saying poems, singing calypso, and dramatizing – all about safety.
The Kim Collins Highway will be graced by the Kajola employees on Thursday (Oct. 27) during their health/safety walk. The employees will also be sporting their safety week t-shirts on this walk. On Friday (Oct. 28) the employees will be having a healthy luncheon at Kajola.
Kajola’s Annual Safety Week started five years ago when General Manager, Jose Rosa re-enforced their Safety Policy, and has since then not only been successful in promoting safety at Kajola, but other companies as well.
Last year, Kajola held what was deemed as a very successful Safety Week as Don Bassette of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was brought to the Federation, and he delivered a 30 hour course to nine companies including Kajola, on many safety topics including blood borne pathogens, hazard prevention, eye and face protection, ergonomics, and lock out tag out.
This year’s Safety Week is expected to be a very successful and exciting one as well.
