    Five injured in three-vehicle accident

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - FIVE individuals were taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital after they sustained injuries in a three-vehicle collision on Cayon Street in the vicinity of Elite Laundry early yesterday morning.
     
    Initial reports were that a bus, a car and a truck were involved in the collision which occurred at about 8:005 a.m., but investigations into the incident yielded further details.
     
    Head of the Police Force’s Press and Public Relations Office, Inspector Cromwell Henry explained to SKNVibes that the accident involved motor omnibus HA29, driven by Vincent Broadbelt; a truck, P1539, which was driven by Linden Marcus of Old Road; and a motorcar, PA5449, owned by Carib Breweries and was being driven by Linkon Maynard of Mattingley. ~~Adz:Right~~
     
    He further explained that investigations revealed, “the bus and the car were travelling eastwards on Cayon Street towards downtown Basseterre when the truck, travelling in the opposite direction, attempted to overtake a parked vehicle and collided with the bus and the car in the process.”
     
    SKNVibes understands that both vehicles were damaged on the right side, but there was no damage done to the truck. 
     
    The injured persons, all passengers of thee bus, were transported to the hospital where they were treated in accordance with their injuries and subsequently discharged. 
     
    Meanwhile, just minutes before this incident, a two-vehicle crash had taken place also on Cayon Street, but this time in the vicinity of Dr. William Connor Primary School.   
     
    SKNVibes learned that at about 7:45 a.m., motorcar P7287, which was driven by Emelda Richards and motor jeep PA1230, driven by Travil Buchanan of Sandy Point, were involved in the collision. Both vehicles were travelling towards the Basseterre when the car stopped and the jeep collided with it from the rear.
     
    SKNVibes was informed that the passenger and driver of the car sustained neck injuries, but was unable to ascertain whether or not they received medical treatment.
     
    However, minor damages were done to the back of the car and the front of the jeep.

    Police investigations continue.
