BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A 56-year-old mother is currently on bail following her arrest for alleged possession of illegal drugs.
Information reaching this publication states that Rosalyn Whyte of Lime Kiln had recently appeared before a city magistrate after being arrested and charged by members of the newly-formed Delta Squad on Friday (Oct. 21).
SKNVibes understands that shortly after 6:00 a.m. on Friday (Oct. 21), members of the Delta Squad had executed a search warrant at Whyte’s home and found a quantity of vegetable material suspected to be marijuana (ganja) hidden in a barrel within one of her bedrooms.
In recent weeks, Delta Squad had launched a number of successful operations, some of which resulted in the apprehension of three men who were reportedly assisting police with their investigations into the shooting-death of Noel ‘Zambo’ Heath and Wendell Wilkinson.
However, to date, no information was received from the police to clarify if the men were charged or released.
According to Commissioner Celvin ‘CG’ Walwyn, Delta Squad is an elite crime-fighting task force that would not entertain any nonsense from criminals.
It comprises members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force, all of whom underwent special training and are tasked with patrolling all hotspots on St. Kitts both night and day.
The Commissioner told members of the media that it was his brainchild and one of his many initiatives in taking back the streets from the gangs and other criminals.
