BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A number of individuals, including some on their way home from work and some going on their regular afternoon fitness walks, scurried to safety as shots rang out in Newtown Monday afternoon injuring four persons.

On receipt of the news, SKNVibes visited the area but was only able to acquire little information. However, a release from the Police stated that four persons were injured including one female and two juveniles.

The release said the shooting occurred at about 5 p.m. at Mad House Alley, Newtown, Basseterre and investigations revealed that 16-year-old Nipchien Morton of Ottleys Village, Ellister Thomas [17] also of Ottleys Village, Gweneth Battice of New Road and Trevis Henville of Caunt Street were walking through the said Alley when an unknown person fired several rounds in their direction injuring them in the process.
