BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – WHAT seemingly began as a casual walk from one part of Cayon to the next ended in a shooting incident that left two men nursing gunshot wounds.

Reports were received by SKNVibes at about 7:05 last night that Terrence ‘Bol’ Wharton of Upper Cayon and Leon Griffin originally of Nevis, were shot while in the Upper Cayon area.  The reports also suggested that the assailant(s) drove up to the men in an unmarked vehicle and started shooting while they were walking from Upper Cayon to Lower Cayon.

Investigations conducted by SKNVibes revealed that the incident left Griffin with two gunshot wounds to his leg(s) and ‘Bol’ with one to his left leg.

This media house understands that while the men were in the vicinity of the junction connecting Water Works and Upper Cayon, they were ambushed and shots were fired at them.

Bol, according to reports, was whisked away from the scene in a private vehicle and taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital
Leon Griffin’s arrival at the JNF Hospital
before police and medical technicians arrived at the scene of the incident.

Griffin, on the other hand, was transported to the same medical institution but by the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Unit.

SKNVibes learned that during an emergency operation last evening, Bol’s left leg had to be amputated from the knee down because all the major blood vessels were destroyed. Griffin is however said to be in stable condition.  ~~Adz:Left~~

This media house has been informed by the authorities that no one has been taken into police custody to assist with the investigations, but inquiry into the matter is ongoing.

Any person having information surrounding this incident is asked to contact the Cayon Police Station at telephone number 465-7258 or the Criminal Investigations Department at 465-2241 extension 220,231,236.

This latest shooting brings to five the number of incidents to have occurred within a nine-day period.

Investigations into all incidents are ongoing.
