By: Suelika N. Creque, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – FOR Sugar Mas 40:40, Jamal Butler popularly  known as Hot Rod said that he is moving away from ‘meat’ and will be promoting one of the natural healing products of the spice family, Ginger.

“A lot of people said the pork affected them last year, so I decided to move away from the grease and come with something spicy,” he told SKNVibes.com

    “Ginger can cure anything.”

Hot Rod explained that the song refers to someone requesting his help to “pound some ginger” for them.

“Ginger can be used for anything, to make meat soft and for drinking. They believe in me because of what they have seen and they believe I have the right tools to pung that ginger,” he said.

The song was first written by him and then he took it to someone to edit and make changes where necessary before it was recorded at Jefferey Brookes studio in Newton Ground.

Hot Rod plans to take the Sugar Mas celebration by storm and said he has already registered for the Soca Monarch and plans to enter both the Groovy and Power categories.

He said he will be releasing more music shortly.

He extended gratitude to his fans all over the world who support him and his music, and also made mention of Lord Kent whom he says keeps him in tune with his musical career.

The former ‘Turkey Killer’, said that he will soon have his songs on sale and released a music video for ‘Pork for dinner’.

In 2009, Hot Rod copped the Best of the Rest title with ‘P-Peep’.
Some of his past hits include ‘Tie You Cat’ and ‘Don’t accuse me’, released in 2007 and 2008 respectively.

In 2006 he released ‘Sandra’ and ‘Just Do it’ and in 2005 he made headlines with, ‘Shontelle’ (Turkey Killer song), which had everyone chanting “Me’s a turkey, killer… Shontelle you turkey dead”.
