BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – PANDEMONIUM broke out at the Challengers Community Centre earlier today (Oct. 28) when masked men gained access to the building and launched an attack on two young men.
Initial reports suggested that bandits had launched their attack on individuals who were either attending, teach at or who were present at the Challengers Pre-School, which is housed on the bottom floor of the Challengers Community Centre.
Those reports were however proven to be false.
Reliable sources have however indicated that sometime after 11:00 a.m., five men entered the premises and, while on the top storey of the two-tier structure, went into a room where a hospitality class was in session.
Having entered the room, the individuals proceeded to beat two students of the class.
The day’s session was abruptly interrupted and while the attack was targeted at the two unnamed individuals, a female student of the class, who happened to be in vicinity of the assault, was struck in the head.
SKNVibes however understands that she was not seriously injured.
Following the assault, the disguised assailants fled the scene.
This publication has confirmed that at least one of the wounded males was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force visited the scene to conduct the necessary investigations.
It is understood that a number of individuals have since been taken into police custody and are assisting the authorities with their investigations.
