BASSETERRE, St. Kitts –THE St. Kitts Nevis 4 x 100M Relay Team has won the second silver medal for the Federation this evening Friday, 28 October, 2011 at the XVI Pan American Games Relay Finals!

The Relay Boys, as they are now affectionately called at home, came second in the 4 x 100 Relay Finals at the Pan Am Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.

They brought the relay baton home in 38.81 seconds just behind Brazil who took the gold and the United States who had to be satisfied with the bronze.

Even more remarkable was that this team did not include Kim Collins who was injured in the 100m two days ago when he won the 100m silver medal, the first Pan American medal ever won by St. Kitts Nevis.

The team consisted of Delwayne Delaney, Jason Rogers, Antoine Adams and Brijesh Lawrence. This team has shown that it is a force to be reckoned with in its own right, and Kim Collins is no doubt feeling justly proud that the team he helped to coach and which was inspired by his success has climbed towards success in this definitive manner.

The Relay Team with Kim Collins included has already won bronze at the World Championships in Daegu, South Korea this year. Since them they have become more determined than ever to ensure that they would be bringing home a medal from the Pan Am Games. And indeed they will!

The Federation sends heartiest congratulations to the entire team in Guadalajara, Mexico, including Tameka Williams who made it to the finals in the 200m and ran her best time ever placing 4th in the 200m finals with a time 23.06 secs . She has also qualified to run in the Olympic Games next year in London.
