The late Woman Constable Dorah Flemming
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - AN autopsy performed on the body of Woman Police Constable Dorah Flemming revealed that she died of acute pulmonary edema.

This information was gleaned from a report given by the police via a press release issued earlier today.

The release informs that resident Pathologist Dr. Jesus De Brock on Monday, March 31, 2008 conducted the post mortem and concluded that Flemming’s death was caused by “acute pulmonary edema” which, according to www.wikipedia.com is, “swelling and/or fluid accumulation in the lungs”.

It was reported that on Saturday, March 29, 2008 Flemming’s children discovered her dead at home in the bed to which she retired the night before.

She has been described as a hard working woman who never used her illness as an excuse to escape her duties.

Fellow police officers have since been attired with black buttons on their left breast as a symbol of the mourning period for their comrade-in-arms. ~~Adz:Right~~

Inspector Cromwell Henry, Head of the Police Force’s Press and Public Relations Office, told SKNVibes that the Police Constables Branch Board is organising a candle light vigil in honour and celebration of the life of WPC Flemming. It will be held at the Ottleys Basketball Court from 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2008.

Inspector Henry said, “Members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force continue to mourn the passing of our beloved sister.”
