BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE George Moody Stuart School also known as ‘Factory School’ is presently celebrating its 50th anniversary and officially began the celebration with a Church Service on Sunday, Oct. 30, at the Wesley Methodist Church beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Principal of the School, Elizabeth Condell, said that all former students and parents were invited to attend and celebrate with the school.
“It will be a regular service with singing, scripture reading, a sermon and an address by Minister Marcella Liburd,” she said.
Condell also said there would be presentations made to past teachers and principals of the school for their long standing service to the school.
The 50 year anniversary is being celebrated under the theme, “Pursuing Excellence through Quality Education”.
Along with the church service, the school will also plan a number of other activities to celebrate their milestone including a march through the streets, a Cultural Display, a dinner, talent explosion, a parents walk and a parents quiz.
The principal said that they are also extending invitations to past students and their parents as well to participate in the activities.
Condell told SKNVibes that the George Moody Stuart School was named after the former St. Kitts Sugar Factory’s General Manager George Stuart and was co-founded by George T. Warren.
She said that parents can always expect quality education, caring teachers and smaller classes at the school.
“I am, I can, I ought, I will” is the school’s motto.
