    25-year-old Alphonso ‘Bobo’ Richards
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE brief yet welcomed moment of calm experienced in the Federation was shattered last evening when a young man from St. Pauls was brutally stabbed, causing him to lose his life.

Dead is 25-year-old Alphonso ‘Bobo’ Richards of St. Pauls.

SKNVibes received information about the incident sometime after 1:00 this morning indicating that Richards was stabbed close to midnight on Friday, April 4, 2008 while at St. Pauls in an area popularly known as “De Ghetto”.

While the authorities have not divulged the circumstances surrounding the incident, SKNVibes understands that an argument ensued in the said area which led to a physically violent altercation between Richards and Dieppe Bay resident Lionel ‘Shaggy’ Warner, who is said to be in his early 30s.

Richards, reports inform, was taken to the Pogson Hospital, Sandy Point in a private vehicle but succumbed to his injuries about half hour after his arrival. It is understood that Richards sustained stab wound(s) to the upper left portion of his abdomen.

SKNVibes spoke to the Press and Public Relations Officer of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, Inspector Cromwell Henry, who confirmed that sometime this morning Warner turned himself in at the Basseterre Police Station.

At press time, charges were not preferred against Warner and it is not clear as to when he would be charged but, as Henry confirmed, investigations into the incident have begun and are ongoing.  ~~Adz:Right~~

This brings the Federation’s murder rate for the year 2008 to five; one in Nevis and the remaining four in St. Kitts.

The first victim was Leon ‘Gravo’ Westerman (28) who was shot while ‘hanging out’ with a female companion at Angela’s Bar on Main Street, Charlestown, Nevis.

Derrick ‘Jake’ Gumbs Jr. was the second victim. Reports suggest that he was among a group of individuals sitting somewhere along Neverson Street West when masked individual(s) approached and opened fire. He was the sole casualty.

Victims number three and four are Orlando ‘Snoop’ Williams of Buckley’s Site and Leon Willock of Dorset Village who were discovered in the Mattingley/Olivees Mountain area shot to death.

A previous article carried on SKNVibes had informed there were speculations that Willock’s and William’s deaths were homicides. This however was confirmed by Inspector Henry who has since informed that as a result of other information gathered, their deaths have since been classified as murders.

Investigations into all incidents are ongoing.
