BASSETERRE. St. Kitts – IT is now another working week but the festive-filled weekend still lingers on the minds of many.
As usual, the Strip, well serviced by local DJ’s, had a great turnout for a cool Friday lime (Nov 4).
An enormous crowd flooded Lozac Road on Friday afternoon for a great after work lime as the St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association presented the national team which will be playing against Canada this coming Friday (Nov 11) at Warner Park. To excite the celebration the Nu Vybz Band International entertained the crowd until approximately 10:00 p.m. that evening.
On Saturday (Nov 5) Sandy Point’s SPIRIT group held two spectacular events – Grassroots Football and an ‘Iron band street jam’ dubbed ‘Chambalay’ - as a way to celebrate this year’s Chambalay Activities.
Star lights, firecrackers and bonfires irradiated the Saturday evening sky as a large crowd attended the ‘Winnjammers J’Ouvert Troupe’ launch at Frigate Bay..
Filled to capacity, the Pumpkin experienced an enormous turnout for the featured popular Jamaican DJ Tony Matterhorn with the event running into the wee hours of Sunday Morning.
The Sandy Point SPIRIT ‘Chambalay’ event came to an end on Sunday (Nov 6) with a ‘Kart Part’ Olympics which exhibited a number of old time sporting events.
The Carnival feeling was brought on stream when a large crowd gathered on Sunday evening for the launch of the 40/40 Sugar Mas Calypso Tents. At Fat Tuesday’s spacious area both the Proud Sounds and Legends Calypso tents introduced their contenders for the calypso crown.
