    Good Samaritan shot in arm

    ~~Adz:Left~~ BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - IN a daring attempt to retrieve a bag that was stolen from a female, a male resident of Camps Village, who has been described by many as “a good Samaritan”, was shot in the arm.
     
    The incident reportedly occurred shortly after midnight Saturday on Fort Street. According to information received by SKNVibes, two students of the Ross University Nursing School in the persons of April Rose Esparta and Sharon Cranston, Richard Speakman, a teacher at Ross University School of Veterinary Studies’ Preparatory School, and two men were involved in the incident.
     
    Sources informed this media house that the two nursing students were walking along Fort Street when an unidentified man snatched a purse belonging to one of the women. On hearing their screams and shouts for help, Speakman reportedly gave chase after the men.
     
    According to reports, the assailants dropped the bag and while Speakman was attempting to  retrieve it he was shot in his upper right arm.
     
    Speakman was taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital where he was treated for his injury and discharged. The bag was however returned to its owner.
     
    Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
