BRADES, Montserrat, November 9th, 2011 – The second Alphonsus ‘Arrow’ Cassell Memorial Lecture Series will be held this Thursday as a precursor to the Alliouagana Festival of the Word which starts Friday, November 11 at the Montserrat Cultural Centre.
Creative Industries: Forces for Change, Innovation and Entrepreneurship is this year’s theme for the symposium which brings together scholars and authors for discussions surrounding the life of the former Soca King of the World who passed away in 2010.
This year’s lecturers include Ivan Berry of iB Entertainment who will speak on “The Business of Music” and local lawyer and author Warren Cassell who will present “Is this Arrow’s Second Death: A Look at Arrow’s Music One Year Later.”
Entertainment for the evening will be provided from Sir Howard Fergus who will read from last year’s collection The Arrow Poems and Saturday Soup and International Soca Artist, Scrappy.
