Rotary District 7030 selects Kittitian for Group Study Exchange (GSE) Programme

    Mr. Francil A. Morris
    Basseterre, St. Kitts
    – One of the Federation’s promising young leaders, Mr. Francil A. Morris has been selected as the official candidate to participate in the Rotary District 7030 Group Study Exchange (GSE) Programme.

Morris, a trained teacher, who hails from the Cayon Community, was nominated by the local Rotary Club of Liamuiga and selected by District 7030, to join the official delegation of young persons to travel to West Virginia in the coming weeks.  Francil is honoured to be the lone representative on the team from the Leeward Islands as the other representatives come from St. Lucia, Barbados, Martinique and Trinidad and Tobago.

According to Mrs. Nesta Seaton Clarke, President of the Rotary Club of Liamuiga, Mr. Morris’s social, community, and educational background made him an ideal choice for the programme. She also stated that,” his involvement in the initiative will further complement his existing skill set as a teacher, community and church leader.” ~~Adz:Right~~

The Rotary Foundation’s Group Study Exchange (GSE) programme is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for business people and professionals between the ages of twenty-five (25) and forty (40) years of age who are in the early stages of their careers. The programme provides travel grants for teams to exchange visits in paired areas of different countries.

For four weeks, team members experience the host country's culture and institutions, observe how their vocations are practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas.

To date, three (3) Kittitians have benefited from the exchange in the persons of Messers. Michael Dowe and Mark Wilkin (New Zealand), and Ms. Marie Therese Burton (Mexico) who have gone on to become well-respected individuals in their chosen fields of endeavour.
