BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – RACING and Gaming Inc. (RGS) yesterday April 9th continued to demonstrate the company’s commitment to St. Kitts and the fight against crime when a dozen bullet-proof vests were donated to the Police Force.

RGS manager Andrew D’Andrea handed the life saving body armor over to a small contingent from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force during a brief ceremony at the company’s headquarters at Sugars Complex, Frigate Bay.

“RGS is glad to be able to donate these bullet-proof vests to the Police Force to show our appreciation for the invaluable job that they are doing by serving and protecting the community. We think it’s in everyone’s best interest to give support to these brave men who go out and put their lives on the line so that we can all be safer. We hope that these vests will assist the Police as they continue their excellent service to the communities of St. Kitts,” he said.

Superintendent Ian Queeley accepted the donation of behalf of the Police High Command and Ranks, expressing his gratitude to the gaming company.  ~~Adz:Right~~

“The Police Force is eternally grateful for this contribution and for the continued support that RGS has shown us over the years. As we seek to improve our efficiency in the never ending battle against crime in St. Kitts, these vests will be put to good use and although we hope it will never come to that, maybe save the lives of some of our officers as they in turn strive to maintain Law and Order in the Federation,” said the senior police officer.

D’Andrea also used the opportunity to encourage other corporate entities to “step up” and do their part to support the Police. He also revealed that the crime situation touched home more so with the March 11th shooting death of Derrick ‘Jake’ Gumbs Jr., an employee of RGS.

“Racing and Gaming is trying to set an example for our fellow corporate citizens to follow. If everyone does a small part we can help solve the bigger issues associated with crime. Too many people are sitting on their hands and complaining instead of taking an active role,” he commented.
