    Hanged man died from asphyxia
    -‘Bobo Hortical’ from hypovolemic shock!

    FOUND HANGING: Colin Thompson
    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – REPORTS out of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force Public Relations Office state that autopsies performed on the remains of Colin Thompson and Alphonso ‘Bobo Hortical’ Richards revealed the causes of death were due to asphyxia and hypovolemic shock respectively.
     
    According to a police release, the autopsies were performed on Tuesday by Resident Pathologist Dr. Jesus Debrock, who revealed that Thompson’s death was due to asphyxia [a condition of severely deficient supply of oxygen to the body], as a result of hanging by the neck.
     
    The lifeless body of Colin Thompson (43) was found hanging from a tree with a rope around his neck in Herbert Street, Newtown at about 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the District Medical Officer.
     
    The Resident Pathologist also reported that hypovolemic shock [a state of decreased blood volume] and hemoperitoneum [blood accumulating in the space between the inner lining of the abdominal wall and the internal abdominal organs] were the causes of Richards’ death, due to a wound to the abdomen.

    It was reported that shortly before midnight on Friday, April 4, the 25-year-old Richards of St. Pauls

    Village and Lionel ‘Shaggy’ Warner of Dieppe Bay had an altercation in an area popularly known as “De Ghetto” in St. Pauls Village, which resulted in Warner stabbing him in the region of his abdomen.  

    He was taken to the Pogson Hospital in a private vehicle but succumbed to his injury about half an hour after his arrival.

    Warner subsequently surrendered himself to the authorities at the Basseterre Police Station, where he was arrested and charged with murder on Monday, April 7, 2008.
