National Honoured for Outstanding Contribution to Corporate America

    BASSETERRE St. Kitts, November 17th 2011 (SKNIS) - Larry Quinlan of St Kitts & Nevis received the award for Outstanding Contribution to Corporate America for the significant strides he has made as one of the Principals in Deloitte LLP, one of the world’s largest professional services firms with 170,000 employees in over 140.
     
    The award was presented on behalf of the Institute of Caribbean Studies by St. Kitts Nevis’ Ambassador to the United States H. E. Jacinth Henry Martin., a former classmate and friend of Mr. Quinlan. The ceremony was part of the  Caribbean American Heritage Awards Gala held on November 11, 2011 as a celebration of the contribution of Caribbean sons and daughters whose genius and exemplary demonstration of commitment to their varied spheres.
     
    Joining in the presentation was Dr Claire Nelson, Founder and President of the Institute for Caribbean Studies which is celebrating its 18th year.
     
    Ambassador Henry Martin said the gala was a “spectacular affair, patrons openly expressing their delight at the ambiance, the fare, and the excellence of the entertainment package.” 
     
    She added that, “Larry has been with Deloitte since 1988 and has served in a variety of leadership roles, including Global Chief Information Officer for Deloitte Consulting LLP and National Managing Principal for Process Excellence.  Larry holds an MBA from Baruch College, City University of New York, and in 2005 was listed by Black MBA Magazine as one of top 50 Black MBAs under 50 years of age.”
     
    SKNIS learned that major U.S. publications including the Wall Street Journal and Information Week have quoted Quinlan and he and has also been honored by several US based institutions and publications. 
     
    Larry is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Quinlan of Conaree, St Kitts, one of 4 sons who have all achieved success in their individual spheres, and to whom he expressed his appreciation for the role they played as family in shaping his life.
