Press Release

ROADTOWN Tortola BVI, November 18th, 2011 – The job analysis project, which is currently in its second phase, will be the topic of the next Human Resources (HR) Talk scheduled for Wednesday, November 23 at 10:00 a.m. in the Breezeway of the Central Administration Building and on Virgin Gorda at 2:30 p.m. in the Vanterpool Building Conference Room.

The session, which is organised by the Department of Human Resources, is being held to inform public officers on the progress of the project to date and to give them the opportunity to share their views and ask questions.

Acting Director of Human Resources, Mrs. Michelle Donovan Stevens, Ms. Jennifer Oram and Mr. William Callewaert representing KPMG (BVI) Limited will be the resource persons at the sessions.

The Human Resources Director is urging public officers to attend the sessions to learn more about the second phase of the project and how they have and can continue to assist the KPMG team.

Government signed a contract on August 26 with KPMG (BVI) Limited to provide professional services for the conduct of a job analysis of the public service.

The service-wide project, which forms part of Government’s strategies undertaken to manage the growth and cost of the public service, is being carried out to critically review the current roles and structures and identify where efficiencies can be achieved, while ensuring relevancy, accuracy and consistency is applied in determining appropriate job descriptions.

The project, which is spearheaded by the Department of Human Resources under the Deputy Governor’s Office’s portfolio will be completed in six phases namely, planning, investigation, analysis, documentation, strategic review and recommendations.

HR Talk is a programme designed and hosted by the Department of Human Resources as a forum for public officers to learn more about issues affecting them.
