MCW Minister in the process of reviewing all major projects

    ROADTOWN Totorla BVI, November 16th, 2011  – The Minister for Communications and Works, Honourable Mark Vanterpool in consort with Acting Permanent Secretary Mrs. Arlene Smith-Thompson and relevant Heads of Departments are in the process of touring several major projects so that the minister can gain a better understanding of all ongoing projects within his ministry.

    In giving an update on the various projects being reviewed, the minister told the Department of Information and Public Relations that an accountability frame work will be devised to ensure that Government is getting value for money.

     

    Honourable Vanterpool also indicated he has garnered a better understanding for some of the projects, now he has to put everything into perspective and thereafter he will consult with the Premier and Cabinet to determine how the ministry will move forward. “It is my goal to proceed as quickly as possible,” Honourable Vanterpool said.

     

    To date the minister visited the Purcell Ghut project, Biwater facilities and met with contractors for the National Sewage Project. The Ministry of Communications and Works is responsible for the continued development of the Territory’s public infrastructure.
