    CHARLESTOWN Nevis, November 23rd 2011 - Voices of Women (VOW) a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) will host a walk at 5.00 p.m.(Wednesday November 23) to stand in solidarity with the families directly affected by child sexual abuse.
     
    The  Director of the Department of Gender and Community Affairs on the island of Nevis,, Sandra Maynard is on record saying that  in 2010 alone in the island of Nevis, 19 cases of sexually abused children were officially reported to her department.
     
    Voices of Women, a Nevis non-governmental organization dedicated to the empowerment of women and families through fund-raising, advocacy and capacity building, stands in solidarity with the families directly affected by child sexual abuse.
     
    VOW recognizes that these incidents impact the entire community. VOW will coordinate  a series of community discussion on the topic of child sexual abuse. The focus will be on raising awareness and providing tips to the greater community on the protection of children by identifying signs of abuse.
